KRYPTON, COMPRESSED - Kr - UN1056

Krypton gas is used in the lighting industry to manufacture fluorescent lights, halogen headlights and in some photographic flashes, as well as in certain types of lasers. Krypton is also used as an insulator/filler gas in high efficiency, low E, multiple pane windows to increase the R value and reduce noise. Krypton is also widely used in the medical field in heart shunt studies, and in electronic tubes.

Krypton gas is used in Space exploration as a fuel source for ion propulsion engines, because of it's lower cost than the preferred xenon gas.
