Neon

Neon is used in the lighting industry to manufacture the commonly known "Neon Lights". Neon has a natural red glow, but when mixed with other gases produces a wide range of glows. Neon has a very low boiling point and can be used as a very low temperature refrigerant. Neon is in the family or Rare Gases (also called Noble or Inert Gases) which includes Krypton gas, Xenon gas, Argon gas and Helium gas and is present in the air in low concentrations.

NEON, COMPRESSED - Ne - UN1065

Primarily used as a fill gas for neon signs, in electron and fluorescent tubes, refrigeration, as a voltage regulator, in gas lasers and research.

Neon gas is also used in atomic particle research and as a liquid, neon is a low-temperature cryogenic fluid. NASA uses liquid neon as a coolant.
